Using Canva for Real Estate Graphics

I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase a lot…

We’ve been hearing it, in some way or another, since Y2K…

“Real Estate is moving further into the digital realm.”

But what does that actually mean for you, as a real estate agent?

And why now, if we’ve heard this for so long?

Because it’s not enough to just do the old 3 P’s anymore: Place a sign, Put it up on the MLS, Pray it sells.

You have to market your listings where people are, and right now people are on social media.

Instead of the 3 P’s, use S.M.S = Sign in Yard, MLS up, Social Media posted.

We are virtually competing for the attention of our audience with every post we make, and what you post on social media has to be eye-catching and compelling. If it’s boring, static, or just plain bad, it’s going to be scrolled past without a second thought or double glance.

But if it’s done right, and your post is interesting enough to grab attention, it’s going to cause others to engage, and that engagement is what is going to ultimately get you leads and listings.

Why Canva?

While there are a lot of ways you can pay for good graphics, whether by using an expensive tool like Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator or by paying for a Graphic Designer, there’s none quite as free or easy to use, as Canva.

Before you start spiraling, yes there is a paid-for version that offers some pretty cool tools (like background remover), but they really aren’t necessary. The free version requires no cc info or subscription yet still offers free templates, stickers, animations, and so forth. In fact, outside of content creators, I don’t know anyone who actually pays for Canva!

Other than it being free, some of my favorite features are:

  • Templates with correct dimensions for social media (I.E. Facebook and Instagram specific templates)

  • Easy to navigate

  • Animated Graphics

  • Easily upload your own photos and videos

  • Mp4 Downloadable videos

  • Easy to download your creations

  • Free stock photos and videos

Don’t just take my word for it though, check out Canva at work in the demo’s below!
